Essa pesquisa está centrada na análise da figura da mulher e sua representação pela Igreja que, durante a Idade Média, especialmente no século XV, na Europa, fortaleceu o discurso misógino por meio de manuais persecutórios que atestavam a ação do demônio no mundo, através dos seus agentes – o bruxo ou a bruxa,
estando a mulher sensivelmente mais atraída pelo Diabo que o homem. A mulher foi estigmatizada na Idade Média por ser considerada inferior física e intelectualmente, sendo vista como um ser maligno e responsável pelas desgraças do homem. O objetivo principal nesse artigo é discutir como se deu a satanização da mulher, que serviu de base para a misoginia da cultura ocidental.
Resumo Inglês:
This research focuses on the analysis of the figure of women and their representation by the Church which, during the Middle Ages, especially in the fifteenth century in Europe, strengthened the misogynist discourse through persecutory manuals attesting the action of the devil in the world, through its agents - the wizard or witch, the woman being significantly more attracted to the devil than the man. The woman was stigmatized in the Middle Ages because she was considered inferior physically and intellectually, being seen as an evil and responsible for the woes of man. The main objective of this paper is to discuss how the demonization of women occurred, which was the basis for the misogyny of Western culture.
