O presente trabalho apresenta a importância da motivação como elemento primordial no sucesso ou no fracasso da aprendizagem da Língua Alemã como língua estrangeira. O professor, principal agente desse processo, possui a função de conduzir e orientar os alunos na efetivação de tarefas que os colocam como os sujeitos centrais no processo de ensino e aprendizagem, contribuindo dessa forma para elevar a sua motivação. O fator motivacional está diretamente ligado à parte cognitiva do aluno pelos componentes emocionais e afetivos. Sabendo disso, a motivação precisa estar presente em todos os momentos da aula. Um bom professor, que possui êxito em suas aulas, é aquele que sabe motivar e cativar os seus alunos.

This job presents the importance of motivation as a key element in the success or failure of learning German as a foreign language. The teacher is the main agent of this process, and their function is to lead and guide students in accomplishing tasks that place them as the central subject in the process of teaching and learning, contributing to increase their motivation. The motivational factor is directly linked to the cognitive part of the student by the emotional and affective components. Knowing this, motivation must be present at all times in class. A good teacher whose classes are successful, is the one who knows how to motivate and engage the students' attention.
