O desenvolvimento da vida social implicou diretamente na expansão do uso das formas verbais de comunicação e por isso, foi necessário compreender o próprio funcionamento e alcance da linguagem. Diversos teóricos determinam a linguagem como elemento de constituição dos sentidos e da realidade, não apenas como instrumento de nomeação. Dissuadir ou persuadir através do arranjo dos diversos recursos oferecidos pela língua é, numa formulação simples, a marca fundamental da capacidade argumentativa dos seres humanos. Para evidenciar esses efeitos pragmáticos da linguagem, o artigo em questão busca analisar as falhas de argumentação presentes na construção de argumentos dos estudantes de Letras do Instituto Ivoti. Durante dez semanas foram apresentados textos de diferentes gêneros e temáticas. Cada texto possuía uma pergunta norteadora que era analisada e dialogada através da prática do letramento argumentativo.  Apesar da progressão e melhora dos argumentos apresentados durante esses momentos de reflexão, diversos defeitos de argumentação podem ser mencionados, uma vez que os mesmos estão fortemente interligados à questões culturais, bem como, linguísticas dos falantes. A presença constante do verbo “achar” com o significado de acreditar foi notoriamente perceptível nas afirmações feitas, apesar dos falantes conhecerem sinônimos apropriados. Ademais, a redundância e a ambiguidade permearam os letramentos argumentativos, pois demonstramos dificuldade em compreender as colocações dos demais integrantes.

The development of social life implied directly in the expansion of the use of verbal forms of communication and, therefore, it was necessary to understand the very functioning and reach of language. Several theorists determine language as an element of constitution of meanings and reality, not just as an instrument of nomination. To dissuade or to persuade through the arrangement of the diverse resources offered by the language is, in a simple formulation, the fundamental mark of the human beings' argumentative capacity. In order to highlight these pragmatic effects of language, the article in question seeks to analyze the flaws in the arguments present in the construction of arguments by students of Letters at the Ivoti Institute. For ten weeks, texts of different genres and themes were presented. Each text had a guiding question that was analyzed and discussed through the practice of argumentative literacy. Despite the progression and improvement of the arguments presented during these moments of reflection, several defects of argument can be mentioned, since they are strongly linked to cultural as well as linguistic issues of the speakers. The constant presence of the verb "to guess" with the meaning of believing was notoriously noticeable in the statements made, despite the speakers' knowledge of appropriate synonyms. In addition, redundancy and ambiguity permeated the argumentative literacies, as we demonstrated difficulty in understanding the positions of the other members.

Die Entwicklung des Lebens in der Gesellschaft erforderte die Ausweitung der Verwendung von verbalen Kommunikationsformen, und daher war es notwendig, das Ordnungsgemäße und den Umfang der Sprache zu verstehen. Aus einem Instrument zur Benennung von Dingen ist die Sprache als Element der Konstitution der Sinne und der Realität hervorgegangen. Das Ausreden oder Überzeugen durch die Anordnung der verschiedenen Ressourcen, die die Sprache bietet, ist in einer sehr einfachen Formulierung das grundlegende Merkmal der Argumentationsfähigkeit der Menschen. Um diese pragmatischen Auswirkungen der Sprache hervorzuheben, versucht der betreffende Artikel, die Argumentationsfehler zu analysieren, die bei der Argumentationskonstruktion der Studenten der Instituto Ivoti auftreten. Während zehn Wochen wurden Texte verschiedener Genres und Themen vorgestellt. Jeder Text hatte eine Leitfrage, die durch die Praxis der “Letramento argumentativo” analysiert und diskutiert wurde. Trotz des Fortschreitens und der Verbesserung der Argumente, die in diesen Augenblicken der Reflexion vorgebracht werden, können einige Argumentationsfehler erwähnt werden, da sie in engem Zusammenhang mit den kulturellen und sprachlichen Problemen der Redner stehen. Die ständige Präsenz des Verbs "finden" mit der Bedeutung des Glaubens machte sich in den Aussagen bemerkbar, obwohl die Sprecher entsprechende Synonyme kennen. Redundanz und Mehrdeutigkeit durchdrangen die argumentativen Kompetenzen, da wir Schwierigkeiten hatten, die Positionen anderer Mitglieder zu verstehen.
