O blockchain são protocolos descentralizados responsáveis pelo registro das transações de ativos. A sua aplicação nas atividades do setor securitário dá-se desde a conquista do cliente através dos contratos inteligentes até a prevenção de fraudes. O presente estudo visa identificar as tendências e principais características da tecnologia blockchain aplicadas no mercado de seguros por meio da prospecção realizada no banco de dados online das bases Especanet, Wipo e Scopus, nas quais identificou-se que a China é a maior responsável pelos depósitos de patentes constituindo 42% dos registros, entretanto no que refere-se a conteúdos científicos sobre o tema, o Estados unidos é o maior produtor formando 18% dos conteúdos. A área da ciência computacional é responsável por 60% dos artigos publicados. Ao consultar o sítio eletrônico do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Intelectual (INPI), Verificou-se que o Reino Unido é o pais que mais registrou patentes relacionadas ao blockchain no Brasil, comparando o período de espera para o patenteamento, notou-se que o Brasil demora mais para publicar seus registros do que a Europa.

The blockchain are decentralised protocols responsible for registering the Transactions in assets. Its application in the Activities of the securitary sector is provided by the achievement of the client through the smart contracts to the prevention of fraud. The present study identified the trends and characteristics of the blockchain technology applied in the insurance market through prospecting conducted in the online database of the bases Especanet, WIPO and Scopus, in which it was identified that China is the Largest responsible for patent deposits constituting 42% of the records, however, in which, communicate to scientific content on the subject, the United States is the largest producer forming 18% of the contents.
