O presente artigo possui como escopo a análise das teorias da criminologia, dos principais objetivos defendidos pelos abolicionistas penais, bem como da correlação existente entre os abolicionismos e a Justiça Restaurativa. A problemática reside no questionamento: qual é o caminho para que haja uma mudança substancial no Sistema Punitivo, possibilitando a futura aplicação dos ideais abolicionistas? A pesquisa foi desenvolvida a partir do método de abordagem qualitativo, com método de procedimento bibliográfico. Foram apresentadas as principais correntes criminológicas, desde a Criminologia Clássica até a Criminologia Crítica, com enfoque para os abolicionismos penais e seus principais teóricos. Em seguida, foram analisados os pressupostos da Justiça Restaurativa, apresentando uma perspectiva histórica e conceitual, finalizando com a comparação dos aspectos que aproximam tal movimento às teorias abolicionistas.
The present article has as scope the analysis of theories of criminology, of the main objectives defended by the penal abolitionists, as well as the correlation existing between these and Restorative Justice. The problem lies in the questioning: what is the way for a substantial change in the Punitive System, allowing the future application of abolitionist ideals? The research was developed from the method of qualitative approach, with method of bibliographic procedure. The main criminological currents were presented, from Classical Criminology to Critical Criminology, with a focus on penal abolitionism and its main theorists. Next, the assumptions of the Restorative Justice were analyzed, presenting a historical and conceptual perspective, concluding with the comparison of the aspects that approximate this movement to the abolitionist theories.
