Com a proposta de promover o desenvolvimento da piscicultura de água doce no Tocantins, a Embrapa Pesca e Aquicultura, em parceria com o Ministério da Pesca e Aquicultura, desenvolveu o projeto “Peixe Mais”. Uma das ações deste projeto, a ser relatada neste artigo, é a experiência da Capacitação Continuada em Piscicultura de Água Doce que foi realizada em 2014, no município de Araguaína, com foco na transferência de tecnologias para cultivo de peixes nativos por meio da atualização tecnológica aos técnicos multiplicadores da extensão rural. Neste contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar a experiência da capacitação supracitada do projeto no que tange aos aspectos metodológicos e resultados transferidos para os técnicos da extensão rural do Tocantins. Entre os resultados, observou-se que esta iniciativa buscou trazer diferentes realidades do estado para uma discussão única, criando um canal de comunicação entre a pesquisa e a extensão, além de transferir tecnologias e conhecimentos que perpassam os elos da cadeia produtiva do peixe para os técnicos extensionistas que irão multiplicar o conhecimento adquirido.

Aiming to promote the development of freshwater aquaculture in Tocantins, Embrapa Fisheries and Aquaculture, in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, developed the Project called “Peixe Mais” (which refers to more technology in freshwater chain), which uses the technology transference as rural development tool, interacting and promoting strategic changes in the production chain of freshwater fish. One of the actions of this project to be reported in this work is the experience of Continuing Training in Freshwater Fish Farming, which was held in 2014 in the city of Araguaína, State of Tocantins, Brazil, with focus on native fish farming technology transference through technological update of multipliers. In this context, the goal of this paper is to present the experience of "continuing training in freshwater fish farming" in the Project in regard to methodological aspects and results transferred to rural multipliers of Tocantins. Among the results, it was noted that the initiative aimed to bring different realities in this territory, promoting a discussion, creating communication between research activities and the rural extension, and transferring technology and knowledge that underlie the links in the fish production chain for field workers who will multiply the knowledge acquired.
