O objetivo deste artigo é discutir, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a importância da tecnologia adaptada, o “jerico”, como meio de acesso ao desenvolvimento do turismo rural. Buscouse compreender o aparecimento da invenção no município de Alto Paraíso e o efeito transformador que exerceu sobre a população rural, constituída predominantemente de agricultores familiares. A partir das discussões sobre a propagação social do jerico, destacam-se as bases que o transformaram numa atração turística e neste sentido é apresentado o capital social e agroecológico da região e outros atrativos sustentáveis para a sua incorporação ao turismo rural.

This article aims to discuss, through a bibliographical research about the importance of this adapted technology, “jerico”, as an accessing way to the development of the rural tourism. It investigates the appearing of this invention in Alto Paraíso and the effect caused in the people of that local. Alto Paraíso is established of familiar agriculturists. So, this research shows jerico social spreading and its transformation in tourist attraction as well as points the social and agroecological capital of that region and others factors that help its joining to the rural tourism.
