The centenary of the initial influenza pandemic cycle was observed worldwide in 2018, causing estimated morbidity and mortality of 50 million, negatively influencing global life expectancy and positively impacting the investments of large multinational laboratories in technological innovation to launch new vaccines against the H1N1 virus. Technological prospection methods are guiding instruments of the future and builders of the knowledge applied to the transformation of products, processes and services that can be placed on the market. Given this, this research aims to perform a mapping of technologies related to the influenza virus, aiming to identify products and processes that are being created to combat the virus in Brazil. Regarding the methodology, a mapping was performed at the base of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) using the word influenza virus. As a result, there is a reduced number of technologies developed and filed in the patent bank, demonstrating technological ignorance by the national public health management in the pursuit of viability and population well-being.
