Com o tema da noção de campo em Pierre Bourdieu, esse estudo delimita -se a investigar o papel das sociedades científicas para a profissionalização docente, com ênfase no campo da Educação Matemática, procurando responder ao seguinte questionamento: qual a importância das sociedades científicas educacionais para o estabelecimento do campo da docência e sua profissionalização? Uma questão ligada ao objetivo de compreender como a noção de campo explica o processo de profissionalização da docência em matemática. Essa pesquisa se justifica pela necessidade de ampliação dos estudos acerca da profissionalização docente, uma vez que essa área sofre com grande desvalorização cultural por não conseguir afirmar seus objetos específicos de estudo e seu espaço dentro do campo social. Para responder a isso, utilizou-se a metodologia de revisão bibliográfica. Como conclusão, verificou-se que a profissionalização de um campo requer a definição de um objeto específico de estudo e a institucionalização da profissão a partir de entidades que detenham o direito exclusivo de formar os trabalhadores e autonomia para trabalhar com o objeto que compõe o seu campo de estudo, algo que ainda não está presente no campo da docência e que pode ser conquistado junto ao trabalho de sociedades científicas.

With the theme of the notion of field in Pierre Bourdieu, this study is limited to investigating the role of scientific societies for teacher professionalization, with an emphasison the field of Mathematics Education, seeking to answer the following question: what is the importance of educational scientific societies for the establishment of the teaching field and its professionalization? A question linked to the objective of under standing how the notion of field explains the process of professionalization of mathematics teaching.This research is justified by the need to expand studies on teaching professionalization, since this area suffers from great cultural devaluation due to its failure to affirm its specific objects of study and its space within the social field. To answer this, the bibliographic review methodology was used. As a conclusion, it was found that the professionalization of a field requires the definition of a spec ific object of study and the institutionalization of the profession from entities that hold the exclusive right to train workers and the autonomy to work with the object that makes up their field. field of study, something that is not yet present in the feld of teaching and that can be achieved through the work of scientific societies.
