This article highlights the historical and social importance of the Muslim community in Rio de Janeiro between the 18th and the 19th, 'erased in its political and social education' by the new order in force with the institution of the organization of the “Old Republic”and the new Brazilian society through 'whitening' of its references as a future Muslim identity. From the new interpretations of legal and normative sources and views of the time, such as chronicles and travel reports, we can see that from the practice ofCrypto-Islamism and Islamic Jurisprudence focused on Minorities, a fact already present in Islamic History itself in the Iberian Peninsula, we have the maintenance of the cohesion of the Muslim community. That is, the insertion of the Muslim community within the social and political practices in force in the place where they were jurisdictionally located, with the maintenance of its Muslim identity as an Islamic commune in Rio de Janeiro.
