A escrita de Carolina Maria de Jesus e de Clarice Lispector remetem-nos à reflexão de Virgínia Woolf (2004) sobre a condição de pobreza a que o sexo feminino esteve historicamente subordinado e a discussão de como seria prejudicial o fato da mulher ser representada apenas via uma literatura escrita por homens. Para reforçar a voz feminina que ecoa da autoria dessas duas mulheres, surge este artigo, o qual se propõe analisar dois contos: Amor (1998), de Clarice Lispector, para exemplificação de como a mulher passa a questionar seu papel (BEAUVOIR, 1980) e sua identidade (HALL, 2015) e como isso é marcado pelos aspectos socioculturais em que cada autora se enquadra; e Onde estaes felicidade? (2014), de Carolina Maria de Jesus, para iluminar a representação do feminino a partir da ótica daquela que ocupa três vezes o papel de subalterna: mulher, negra, favelada. Metodologicamente, amparado pelos conceitos empreendidos por teóricos da análise comparada (CARVALHAL, 2006), bem como os estudos feministas (SCOTT, 1995), este estudo objetiva compreender como os lugares sociais e as identidades de duas escritoras tão díspares podem repercutir em suas obras e no modo como apresentam as angústias e anseios dos grupos étnicos e sociais que representam.

The writing of Carolina Maria de Jesus and Clarice Lispector send us to the reflection of Virginia Woolf (2004) on the condition of poverty to which the female sex was historically subordinate and the discussion of how detrimental it would be for women to be represented only via a literature written by men. To reinforce the female voice that echoes the authorship of these two women, this article arises, proposing to analyze two short stories: Amor (1998), by Clarice Lispector, to exemplify how women starts to question their role (BEAUVOIR, 1980) and their identity (HALL, 2015) and how this is marked by the sociocultural aspects in which each author fits; and Onde estaes felicidade? (2014), by Carolina Maria de Jesus, to illuminate the representation of the feminine from the perspective of that one that occupies three times the role of subaltern: woman, black, shanty town dweller. Methodologically, supported by the concepts of comparative analysis theorists (CARVALHAL, 2006), as well as feminist studies (SCOTT, 1995), this study aims to understand how the social places and identities of two such disparate writers can have repercussions on their works and in the way they present the anxieties and yearnings of the ethnic and social groups they represent.
