The aim of this paper is to build reflections to rethink the body in the teaching of science and biology, based on dialogues between African decolonial and transvestite discourses in Latin America. Initially, I present some data on violence against black women and transvestites in Brazil. In the second part of the work, I bring the theoretical framework of decoloniality, a milestone that suggests the need to build knowledge ecologies. In the third and fourth part, I present some reflections constructed by the Nigerian sociologist Oyèronké Oyěwùmí, and by the Argentine transvestite activist Marlene Wayar, making discussions about the biologics of Western culture. In the fifth part, a more explicit dialogue about reflections to rethink the body in the teaching of science and biology from the analyzed authors' statements, is presented, aiming at science teaching as a tool for social justice.
