A RELAÇÃO ENTRE TRANSTORNOS MENTAIS E O USO DE SUBSTÂNCIAS PSICOATIVAS

O objetivo deste artigo foi caracterizar a relação da dependência química e os principais transtornos mentais presentes nos indivíduos, seja na fase de abstinência ou alto consumo, em vista da situação atual na sociedade com o crescente consumo de álcool e outras drogas, e os estigmas sobre os transtornos mentais. Teremos como objetivos específicos: analisar dados epidemiológicos, identificar principais características da personalidade do indivíduo e os principais motivos do uso de substância psicoativas. Questões como dificuldades no diagnóstico duplo até a definição das vulnerabilidades presentes na relação de uso e suas consequências são levantadas. Também o diagnóstico tardio, uma questão comum quando colocado em relação ao alto consumo de drogas licitas e ilícitas, e os níveis de vulnerabilidades predominantes nesses indivíduos. O estudo foi feito através de uma análise na literatura existente para levantar as principais características dos transtornos mentais induzidos por abuso de substâncias e características dos indivíduos. Como resultado, pudemos observar que os transtornos mentais induzidos por substâncias ocorre em qualquer indivíduo, mas tem uma predisposição maior em indivíduos com presença de características depressivas e esquizofrênicas e os processos para prevenção e tratamento são extremamente escassos.

The objective of this article was to characterize the relationship between chemical dependence and the main mental disorders present in individuals, either in the abstinence or high consumption phase, in view of the current situation in society with the increasing consumption of alcohol and other drugs, and the stigmas about mental disorders. We will have specific objectives: analyze epidemiological data, identify main characteristics of the personality of the individual and the main reasons for the use of psychoactive substances. Issues such as difficulties in double diagnosis until the definition of vulnerabilities present in the use relationship and its consequences are raised. Also the late diagnosis, a common issue when placed in relation to the high consumption of legal and illegal drugs, and the levels of predominant vulnerabilities in these individuals. The study was done through an analysis in the existing literature to raise the main characteristics of the mental disorders induced by substance abuse and characteristics of the individuals. As a result, we could observe that substanceinduced mental disorders occur in any individual but have a greater predisposition in individuals with depressive and schizophrenic characteristics and the processes for prevention and treatment are extremely scarce.
