Good quality teaching is indicative of good school performance for most students. The objective of the present study was to assess the "Quality of Primary Education" - (QPE) received by university students. The data of the survey consist of opinions about the QPE received (w-weak, a-average, g-good, e-excellent) by undergraduate students of Agronomy, Biology and Nursing at UNEMAT (State University of Mato Grosso), reported between 2013-2016. The results show course-dependent responses (%) [α=5%] only in 2013 and in total answers; and year-dependent only responses in Nursing. For the degree programs, QPE differed [a (41-54%)> g (24-31%) ≥ w (17-32%)> e (<3.5%)]. Each category was similar between years (w: 24.24%, a: 45.88%, g: 27.16%, e: 2.70%). “Unsatisfactory” QPE (w + a: 70.13%) was distinct and 2.34 times higher than "satisfactory" QPE (g + e: 29.86%), although similar between degree programs and between years. There is no evidence of improvement in QPE as perceived by the respondents over time
