A formação sócio-espacial da Grande Florianópolis é composta por três microrregiões (Florianópolis, Tabuleiro e Tijucas) e conta com uma população de 994.095 mil habitantes, o que representa 15,1% da população do estado. A ocupação dessa formação regional realizada, entre meados do século XVIII e o primeiro quartel do século XIX, foi construída na base de uma pequena produção familiar que desempenhou papel significativo na divisão nacional/regional do trabalho da produção agropecuária. Em sua trajetória de ascensão e queda, parte dessa pequena produção transformou-se em verdadeiros negócios agropecuários. Apesar do elevado grau de urbanização, da expansão da mancha urbana a partir de Florianópolis, da redução da população rural e do avanço dos segmentos industriais e de serviços na geração de renda regional, verifica-se no conjunto da formação regional e em alguns municípios específicos uma importância significativa do Valor Adicionado Bruto gerado pela agropecuária. Desvendar o papel da produção agropecuária da formação sócio-espacial da Grande Florianópolis pós-2003 é o objetivo geral do texto. Esse dinamismo veio acompanhado de alterações significativas nas estruturas produtivas regionais, promovendo novas características via concentração da produção, exclusão, especialização e diferenciação social. Na elaboração deste texto, optou-se pela abordagem exploratória via levantamento bibliográfico e documental relativo à temática exposta e o levantamento de dados estatísticos.

The socio-spatial formation of the Great Florianópolis composes of three micro-regions (Florianópolis, Tabuleiro, and Tijucas), and it has a population of 994,095 thousand inhabitants, which represents 15.1% of the state population. The occupation of this regional formation happened between the mid-eighteenth century and the first quarter of the nineteenth century. It was based on a small family production that played a significant role in the national/regional division of labor of agricultural production. In its upward and downward trajectory, part of this small production has turned into true agricultural business. Despite the high degree of urbanization, expansion of urban sprawl from Florianópolis, reduction of the rural population, the advancement of industrial and service segments in the generation of regional income, there is a regional formation and some specific municipalities of significant importance on Gross Value Added generated by the agriculture. The general objective of this text is to unravel the agricultural production of socio-spatial formation of The Great Florianópolis post-2003. This dynamism was accompanied by significant changes in regional productive structures, promoting new characteristics through the concentration of production, exclusion, specialization, and social differentiation.It was possible to choose the exploratory approach via bibliographic and documentary survey regarding the exposed theme, and research of statistical data, during the text elaboration.
