Objetivamos neste artigo compreender a relação que se estabelece entre a cultura militarista e a violência institucional presente na profissão bombeiro militar. Para tanto, por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, analisamos notícias encontradas em sites da internet, sobre casos de trote, instruções (aulas) e punições administrativas envolvendo bombeiros militares. O que está em jogo é a forma como alunos e profissionais formados dos Corpos de Bombeiro Militares são tratados por meio de uma pedagogia que exalta o sofrimento físico e psíquico para que sejam profissionais fortes e corajosos, segundo a cultura militarista. Se os bombeiros militares não são treinados para a guerra, como se justifica o sofrimento a eles impingido com base na cultura militar? Por fim, chegamos à conclusão de que a cultura bélica inerente ao militarismo consegue exercer seu caráter violento até mesmo em instituições que não têm por objetivo os ideais da guerra, a exemplo dos bombeiros militares.
We aim at this article to understand the relationship between the military culture and the military firefighter profession institutional violence. For this purpose, we have analyzed cases found in the Internet It is a qualitative research on hazings, military training and administrative punishments against military firefighters. What is at stake is the treatment for the Military Fire Brigade students and professional. They are trained through a pedagogy of suffering (physical and psychological) accordance with the military culture. Why do the military firefighters train with suffering if they do not need (theoretically) to go to the war? Finally, we concluded that the military war culture is violent and it can turn institutions like the military firefighters for them to have ideals of war.
