This paper aims to present the trajectory of the Black Movement, as well as its advances over the years. From a bibliographical research, it seeks to analyze the struggle of the black population, since the beginning of the abolition of 1888, within a context of exclusion, in the emancipatory pursuit of the black within Brazilian society. To this end, the article historically analyzes the process of black exclusion in Brazilian society through the presentation of data on slavery, as well as the discussion about the racial issue and the rights gained through the Black Movement throughout the twentieth century. As a result, it is argued about the importance of the Movement for the insertion of black people in the labor market, within the perspective of the struggle and guarantee of rights in the present day.
