Estudos sobre o desenvolvimento infantil têm sido percorrido ao longo da história até a contemporaneidade, compreendendo a necessidade de entender e atuar nas diferentes áreas que envolvem à infância e à família. Este trabalho apresenta uma análise sobre as funções do afeto parental no desenvolvimento psíquico infantil, necessidade que surgiu a partir dos atendimentos às famílias da comunidade pelo setor de Psicologia do Núcleo de Estudos e Defesa dos Direitos da Infância e da Juventude (NEDDIJ) da cidade de Guarapuava/PR, onde foi observado conteúdos referentes a temática do abandono afetivo. O artigo tem como metodologia um levantamento bibliográfico e análise de documentos, os quais permitiram compreender que o desenvolvimento da criança se constitui de maneira saudável por meio do contato e da presença do afeto parental, sendo este essencial tanto para a sobrevivência da criança, como também para a construção de sua estrutura psíquica e social.
Studies on child development have been explored throughout history and up to the present day, highlighting the need to understand and act in the various areas involving childhood and family. This paper presents an analysis of the roles of parental affection in child psychological development, a need that arose from services provided to families in the community by the Psychology Department of the Center for the Study and Defense of the Rights of Children and Youth (NEDDIJ) in the city of Guarapuava, Paraná, where content related to the topic of emotional abandonment was observed. The article's methodology is a bibliographic survey and document analysis, which allowed us to understand that healthy child development is established through contact and the presence of parental affection, which is essential both for the child's survival and for the development of their psychological and social structure.
