A autocracia comandada por Stalin, na Rússia Soviética pós Revolução de Outubro de 1917, notabilizou-se pelo extremo controle que os órgãos políticos possuíam sobre a maior parte dos habitantes daquele país. Tal controle, que além de físico era igualmente intelectual, engendrou um tipo de Estado que, assim como o Leviatã de Hobbes, tinha poderes absolutos e era quase onipresente. Algumas características comuns pertinentes aos dois Estados – o hobbesiano e o stalinista – serão sucintamente tratadas nas páginas a seguir.

The autocracy commanded by Stalin in the Soviet Russia post Revolution of October 1917 was known by the extreme control that the politic organisms used to have upon the major part of the inhabitants from that country. Such control, that was physical and intellectual, created a kind of State that, just like the Leviatã of Hobbes, had enormous power and was almost omnipresent. Some common features present on both States – the Hobbesian and the Stalinist one – are going to be briefly analyzed in this essay.
