O cuidado ao paciente crítico na prevenção da lesão tecidual por pressão

O estudo tem por objetivo descrever as ações de enfermagem com vista à de prevenção das Lesões Teciduais por Pressão (LTP) em pacientes internados nas UTI a partir da literatura já existente. Trata-se de revisão integrativa de literatura científica publicada no Brasil. O levantamento bibliográfico foi realizado em ambiente virtual na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), na base: Lilacs e Scielo, durante os meses de janeiro a julho de 2014. As obras foram pesquisadas por meio dos seguintes descritores: “úlceras por pressão”, “assistência de enfermagem”, “prevenção e controle” e “unidade de terapia intensiva”. Estes termos foram utilizados de forma conjunta e isolados. Os resultados apontam para duas categorias que emergiram a partira da análise da literatura encontrada e analisadas, quais sejam: lesão tecidual por pressão: fatores predisponentes e classificação; e lesão tecidual por pressão: ações desempenhadas pelos enfermeiros para impedi-las. Em síntese, a prevenção e o tratamento das LTP constituem grande desafio, principalmente porque sua aumenta a propensão do cliente a apresentar infecções, interfere na qualidade de vida, eleva o índice de permanência nos leitos hospitalares e, consequentemente, interfere no custo hospitalar.

The purpose of this study was to describe the nursing actions aimed at preventing TISS in patients hospitalized in the ICU from the existing literature. This is an integrative review of scientific literature published in Brazil. The bibliographical survey was carried out in a virtual environment at the Virtual Health Library (VHL), at the base: Lilacs and Scielo, during the months of January to July of 2014. The works were investigated through the following descriptors: “pressure ulcers”, “Nursing care”, “prevention and control” and “intensive care unit”. These terms were used together and in isolation. The results point to two categories that emerged from the analysis of the literature found and analyzed, namely: tissue injury by pressure: predisposing factors and classification; and tissue injury by pressure: actions taken by nurses to prevent them. In summary, the prevention and treatment of LTP is a major challenge, mainly because it increases the client’s propensity to present infections, interferes with quality of life, increases the length of stay in hospital beds and, consequently, interferes with the hospital cost.
