Resumo: O artigo busca analisar o momento em que a moda ocidental em sua ethosadquire como principal correspondente o gênero masculino. Com o rei francês Luís XIV como intercessor da pesquisa, será possível identificar uma era em que os homens ansiavam pelas novidades da indústria da moda, sendo adeptos à maquiagem, ao salto (desenvolvido de maneira primária exatamente para o gênero em questão), e à tecidos brocados e com muitas ornamentações, comlimitadas críticas e preocupações em torno do julgamento do indivíduo diante a forma em que este se apresenta.
