O trabalho discute processos de suspeição de adolescentes por parte da polícia na cidade do Recife. O objetivo é identificar variáveis que conduzem à abordagem policial a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas com agentes da polícia militar e observação direta na DPCA – Delegacia da Criança e do Adolescente da cidade do Recife, PE; local para onde são dirigidos adolescentes apreendidos em flagrante de ato infracional. Percebeu-se que o elemento racial funciona como marcador negativo e estratégico no controle social realizado pela agência de controle, confirmando a hipótese do marco teórico de que racismo é condição fundante na sociedade brasileira, o que leva à legitimação da atuação violenta da polícia sobre os corpos investigados. A conclusão foi confirmada quantitativamente com os dados do perfil de adolescentes apreendidos em flagrante. Por fim, o referencial teórico contou com lentes da criminologia crítica e, ante algumas insuficiências, instrumentais analíticos advindos da sociologia do crime.
The objective is to identify variables that lead to a police approach from semistructured interviews with military police agents and direct observation in the DPCA - Police Station for Children and Adolescents of Recife, PE; Where adolescents are arrested and caught in flagrante delicto. It was perceived that the race element functions as a negative and strategic marker in the social control carried out by the control agency, confirming the hypothesis of the theoretical framework that racism is a founding condition in Brazilian society, which leads to the legitimization of violent police action on Investigated. The conclusion was confirmed quantitatively with the profile data of adolescents seized flagrantly. Finally, the theoretical referential included lenses of critical criminology and, in the face of some inadequacies, analytical tools derived from the sociology of crime.
