Resumo Português:

O artigo analisa as interações entre o clima, o tempo e a saúde de seres humanos e seu interesse no
quadro das mudanças climáticas globais. Mostra a diferença entre os conceitos de clima e tempo, ressaltando
a importância de uma visão de totalidade através do holorritmo, ou totalidade dos ritmos (físico, biológico
e social). Em seguida, discorre-se sobre a relação entre a saúde ambiental e estudos do clima, com enfoque
na geografia médica e na biometeorologia. Apresenta alguns efeitos diretos e indiretos na saúde humana pela
ação dos atributos climáticos, exemplificando-se com estudos realizados no Brasil. Por fim, são discutidos
os conceitos de riscos à saúde e de vulnerabilidade face às mudanças climáticas induzidas pelos homens em
escalas local e global.

Resumo Inglês:

The paper analyzes the interactions between climate, weatherand health of human beings and their
interest in the context of global climate change. Shows difference between the concepts of weather and
climate, pointing out the importance of a vision of wholeness(totality) through the holorritmo concept, or
the composition of all rhythms (physical, biological and social). Then, discuss about the relationship between
environmental health and climate studies, basing on medical geography and biometeorology. Presents some
direct and indirect effects on human health by the action of climatic attributes, exemplifying with case studies
in Brazil. Finally, we discuss the concepts of health risks and vulnerability to climate change induced by men
on local and global scales.
