A IMPORTÂNCIA DO SETOR DE SERVIÇOS NO ESTADO DO PARANÁ

A proposta deste estudo é traçar a trajetória recente do setor de serviços na economia do
Paraná, analisando a participação no Produto Interno Bruto paranaense, a evolução na ocupação
e a taxa de formalização no Estado. A razão para este estudo é o crescimento da importância
do setor de serviços na geração de renda e emprego. Os resultados revelam o aumento da
participação dos serviços no valor adicionado, passando de 60,3% em 2002 para 63,08%
em 2007. No tocante à ocupação, este setor obteve incremento de 18,13% nas ocupações
entre 2002 e 2009. Finalmente, observou-se uma redução do emprego informal,
principalmente pela forte redução desse tipo de trabalhador no comércio.

Resumo Inglês:

The purpose of this study is to trace the recent development of the service sector in the
economy of Paraná and analyze its participation in Paraná’s Gross Domestic Product, the
evolution in occupation and the rate of formalization in the state. The reason of this study is
the growth of the service sector importance in generating income and employment.
The results reveal the increasing of the service participation in the added value from 60,3% in
2002 to 60,08% in 2007. In terms of occupation, this sector incremented 18,13% between
2002 and 2009. Finally, the results demonstrate the informal employment reduction, mainly
due to the considerable decreasing of this type of worker in the market.
