A praticagem é um serviço muito utilizado nos portos e em terminais marítimos, contribui para a segurança da carga e de pessoas, por esse motivo tal serviço é imprescindível. O artigo visa demonstrar a importância do serviço de praticagem para o cotidiano de atracagem e desatracagem de muitos navios no Porto de Santos, bem como um estudo da qualidade no porto de Santos. Existem órgãos reguladores da praticagem que fornecem diretrizes para que as atividades de segurança e operação funcionem adequadamente e de maneira que beneficie as partes envolvidas. Em 2014 surge o centro de monitoramento capaz de promover ainda mais esse serviço através da inovação e tecnologia, considerado entre os mais modernos do mundo localizado em Santos.

The pilotage is a service widely used in ports and marine terminals, contributing to the safety of cargo and people, that is why such a service is imperative. The present article aims to demonstrate the importance of pilotage service for the docking and unmount of many ships in Port of Santos everyday as well as a study of the quality at the Port of Santos. There are regulators of pilotage which provide guidelines for the activities of security and operation to work properly and in a manner that will benefit the parties involved. In 2014 the monitoring center was able to further promote this service through innovation and technology, considered among the most modern in the world located in Santos.
