This paper aimed to investigate systematically theses and dissertations found on the database
of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations of the Brazilian Institut
e of
Information and Technology on Continuing Education of Science Teachers. For this purpose,
the search was primarily focused on the University
-
School (US) relationship, showing a total
of 17 studies on the corpus of the survey. The study is a state

data are reviewed based on the phases of content analysis, i.e., Pre
-
analysis, from which the
following categories emerged: (i) Thematic of Training; (ii) Types of Training; and (iii)
University
-
school relationship. The themes
emerged from the survey analysis process, from
which resulted 15 subcategories, among them: Teaching of Sciences, TIC, teaching practice and
teaching knowledge, which we perceived as the most important for the discussion. With respect
to the types of educa
tion we found: short
-
duration course and long
-
duration course. About the
university
-
school relationship, four subcategories emerged. Thus, we highlighted the
importance of continuing education of teachers of sciences through US interaction, and that

action (ITA) can be a key part of the pathway that
favors this process
