FOLIA DE REIS EM IPORÁ, UM ESTUDO SOBRE TRADIÇÃO, MEMÓRIA E ADAPTAÇÃO SOCIAL COMO FORMA DE RESISTÊNCIA

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar as tradições de Folia de Reis em Iporá – Goiás através da contribuição de lideranças e devotos dessa manifestação cultural, os quais vêm mantendo viva as devoções aos Santos Reis no calendário anual da cidade. Observando os elementos sociais e culturais presentes nas falas dos interlocutores, escolhidos para as entrevistas, observa-se que o maior desafio está na organização dos grupos e isso deve ser feito em memória dos primeiros foliões que se estabeleceram na região, no início da cidade de Iporá, em fins da primeira metade do século XX. No âmbito da investigação se encontram as seguintes preocupações: como ver, nas entrevistas, informações que são memórias pessoais (memória individual) e, segundo, a partir da percepção individual, colhida nas entrevistas, compreender o sentido de memória coletiva. Acreditamos que a herança recebida é uma responsabilidade social e comunitária e está inserida no tempo, pois integra o passado ao presente (memória é história) através de uma festividade de religiosidade popular cuja tradição é transmitida de geração para geração.

This paper aims to analyze the traditions of Folia de Reis in te city of Iporá – Goiás State, Brazil, through the contribution of leaders and devotees of this cultural event, which have kept alive the popular devotions to the Reis Magos (Wise Men) on the annual calendar of the city. Looking at the social and cultural elements present in the speeches of the speakers, chosen for the interviews, it is observed that the greatest challenge lies in organizing groups and this should be done in memory of the firstrevelers who settled in the region at the beginning of the city of Iporá at the end of the first half of the twentieth century. We porpose the following concerns: how to see, in interviews, information that is personal memories (individual memory) and, second, from the individual perception, collected in the interviews, to understand the meaning of collective memory. We understand that cultural heritage is a social and community responsability and it is embedded in history time as part of this, integrating present and past (memory is history) through the popular religion party Folia de Reis, a tradition handed down generation after generation.
