No drama “Extraordinário”é retratado o cotidiano de um meninocom Síndrome de Treacher Collins, uma condição genética caracterizada por anormalidades craniofaciais. Nesta resenha, a produção é analisada sob a ótica do Cirurgião-Dentista.O personagem protagonista apresenta anormalidades nos sistemas estomatognático, maxilofacial e maxilomandibular. O filme relata que, apesar doprotagonista ter passado por diversos procedimentos cirúrgicos que lhe trouxeram benefícios estéticos e funcionais, os procedimentos não foram suficientes para corrigir todas as suas anormalidades;o que, por sua vez, interfere na aceitação da criança no meio social. Este filme pode ser utilizado como vídeo educativo na formação acadêmica em Odontologia e outras áreas da saúde.
In the drama “Wonder”,thedaily life of a boy with Treacher Collins Syndrome is portrayed, a genetic condition characterized by craniofacial abnormalities. In this review, the production is analyzed from the perspective of the Dental Surgeon. The protagonist, has abnormalities in the stomatognathic, maxillofacial and maxillomandibular systems. The film reports that, despite the protagonist having undergone several surgical procedures that brought him aesthetic and functional benefits, the procedures were not enough to correct all his abnormalities, which, in turn, interferes with the child's acceptance in the social environment. This film can be used as an educational video in academic training in Dentistry and other areas ofhealth.
