As Quybyrycas, obra escrita por Antônio Quadros, são uma epopeia pós-moderna, transversal à épica póscolonial, que se centra nas antinomias da modernidade da cultura portuguesa e no potencial de seus debates. A reescrita da história do povo português, através de uma nova semiotização épica do discurso, não faz eco com o “nacionalista místico e sebastianista racional” da ótica de Fernando Pessoa. Ao contrário, representa contemporaneamente um meio de contrapor-se a toda e qualquer forma mitificante que se construiu em torno da figura de D. Sebastião e seus sequazes que se envolveram na derrota de Alcácer-Quibir e, metonimicamente, na de Portugal. Em particular, esta obra enuncia uma proposição de realidade ao relatar as formas de racionalidade presentes na estrutura política, cultural e econômica de Portugal, do século XVI, que se tornaram implausíveis por seu carácter colonial, escravista e racialmente excludente.

The As Quybyrycas, work written by Antonio Quadros, are a post-modern epic poem, traverse to postcolonial epic that centers itself in the modernity antinomies of Portuguese culture and in the potential of its debates. The history rewriting of Portuguese people, through the discourse epic semiotization doesn’t do echo with the “mystic nationalist and rational Sebastian’s”, according to Fernando Pessoa’s epic point of view, but it represents contemporarily a way to oppose to all or any mythicized form that was construct around the figure of D. Sebastian and his followers that were involved in the Alcácer-Quibir defeat and, by metonymy in Portugal’s one. Particularly this work enunciates one reality proposition by relating the rational forms presents in the political, cultural and economic structure of the sixteenth century Portugal that became implausible by it colonial, slavers and racially excluding character.
