ENTRE IMPRESSÕES E OPINIÕES: APONTAMENTOS SOBRE MACHADO CRONISTA E A IMPRENSA PERIÓDICA NO BRASIL

Machado dedicou-se com intensidade à imprensa periódica carioca, dando conta de uma sensível proximidade estilística entre jornalismo e literatura. A perspectiva machadiana para a imprensa se abre com um produtivo campo de reconhecimento da força social da literatura e das expressões artísticas, políticas e culturais. No horizonte dessa perspectiva, a produção de Machado pode sinalizar alguns conteúdos orientadores da época e suas relações com a política nacional e internacional oferecendo alternativas de interpretação das impressões políticas que perspassam a história e o modelo homogeneizante da economia imposta pelo império. O discurso da imprensa, concebido como decorrente do imaginário social, oscila conforme os critérios e as convicções do momento de enunciação. Nos textos de Machado para imprensa carioca pretende-se investigar algumas confluências importantes, de ordem discursiva ao longo da história e da política no Brasil, particularmente a segunda metade do século XIX, período em que se estratificaram as sociedades imaginadas e a conseqüente construção da imagem do outro. Trata-se também de refletir o quanto o vínculo entre o discurso veiculado nesse espaço de difusão de saberes atrela-se à dinâmica do capital ou, de outra forma, em que medida a produção criativa de Machado para a imprensa apenas reencena indefinidamente, de forma crítica ou não, a ordem econômica.

Machado dedicated yourself with intensity to the carioca periodic press, giving a significant stylistic closeness between journalism and literature. The machadian prospect to the press opens with a productive field of recognition of the social strength of literature and artistic expressions, political and cultural. In the horizon of this perspective, the production of Machado may signal some guiding contents of his decade and his relations with the national and international policy offering alternatives of interpretation of policy impressions that pass the history and the homogenizing model of the economy imposed by the empire. The speech of the press, conceived as arising from the social imaginary, varies according to the criteria and the convictions at the time of enumeration. In the Machado’s texts to the carioca press seeks to investigate some important confluences, of discursive order throughout history and politics in Brazil, particularly the second half of the XIX century, period in which they stratified the imagined societies and the consequent construction of the image of the other. It is also important to reflect how the relationship between talk in this space of dissemination of knowledge leash to the dynamics of capital or, in other way, to what extent the creative production of Machado to the press only react indefinitely, so critical or not, the economic order.
