Este artigo tem por finalidade relatar o cemitério Morro Branco como lugar de memória viva para a identidade da população do povoado de Barra Grande, localizado no municÃpio de Cajueiro da Praia, PiauÃ. As relações sociais que cercam e povoam a mente da população local revelam interessantes modos de ocupação e significação do espaço do cemitério, o qual é elemento patrimonial marcante na paisagem e identidade coletiva da população local. A metodologia utilizada consiste em entrevistas semiestruturadas, seguidas de registro fotográfico.
Resumo Inglês:
This article aims to describe the cemetery as a place of Morro Branco living memory for the identity of the population of the village of Barra Grande, located in the municipality of Cajueiro da Praia, PiauÃ. The social relations that surround and inhabit the mind of the local population reveal interesting modes of occupation of space and significance of the cemetery, which is remarkable heritage element in the landscape and collective identity. The methodology consists of semi-structured interviews, followed by photographic record.
