Ensino de Geociência: exposições itinerantes como ferramenta educacional

A preservação do patrimônio arqueológico, paleontológico e geológico é uma necessidade e deve ser pensada através da criação de políticas públicas que envolvam a população com o patrimônio existente. Além disso, é fundamental que sejam disseminadas as ações de educação patrimonial e educação em geociências, visando popularizar os conhecimentos referentes ao nosso planeta, sobre o tempo geológico e sobre a evolução da vida, reafirmando com estas informações a necessidade de preservação do meio ambiente. O município de Chapada dos Guimarães é conhecido por suas belezas naturais e pelo seu patrimônio arqueológico, paleontológico e geológico há mais de um século, contudo, não existem políticas sólidas que garantam a conservação dos sítios existentes. Este trabalho apresenta os resultados da exposição “Olhares sobre o passado”, realizada no ano de 2014 durante o tradicional Festival de Inverno. A exposição foi desenvolvida com objetivo de apresentar aos estudantes das escolas do município e para a população local, informações sobre a arqueologia, paleontologia e geologia da região. A exposição visa cumprir um papel de ampliar as informações referentes à importância da preservação do patrimônio existente no município. Através de apresentações realizadas em linguagem adaptada aos diferentes públicos, a exposição atendeu cerca de três mil pessoas. A assimilação dos conteúdos foi mensurada através da aplicação de um questionário aplicado seis meses após a data do evento, os resultados demonstram diferenças significativas entre o conhecimento dos estudantes que frequentaram e não frequentaram a exposição.

This paper presents the results of the exhibition "Glimpses of the past", held in 2014 during the traditional Winter Festival. The preservation of the archaeological, paleontological and geological heritage is a necessity and should be thought through the creation of public policies involving the population with the existing heritage. In addition, it is essential to spread the heritage education activities and education in geosciences, aimed at popularizing the knowledge related to our planet over geological time and the evolution of life, reaffirming with this information, the need to preserve the environment. The city of Chapada dos Guimarães is known for its natural beauty and for its heritage archaeological, paleontological and geological for more than a century, however, has not today sound policies that guarantee the conservation of existing sites. The exhibition was developed in order to present to students of local schools and the local population, information on archeology, paleontology and geology of the region. The exhibition aims to play a role of expanding the information regarding the importance of preserving the existing heritage in the county. Through presentations in language adapted to different audiences, the exhibition has met about three thousand people. The assimilation of the contents was measured by applying a questionnaire six months after the date of the event, the results show significant differences between the knowledge of the students who attended and did not attend the exhibition.
