This article characterizes the decades of the industrial development of the United States, explaining how it happened so early in the XIX century and has reflected, also, on the relationships in the east hemisphere. It is analyzed the stage called “token ring” between the two hegemonic nation, England and the United States of America in the economic field and world’s policy and also in the poliedric relationships with Latin America. Finally, it is defined the characteristics of the Big Depression Period and the following decade, what works as a historical symbol of the sequence phase of high north American hegemony.
Este trabajo caracteriza las décadas del despegue industrial de los Estados Unidos subrayando cómo éste se dio muy tempranamente en el siglo XIX y se reflejó, asimismo, en las relaciones dentro del hemisferio occidental. Se analiza la etapa del “paso del testigo” entre las dos hegemonías, Inglaterra y los Estados Unidos, tanto en la economía y la política mundial, como en las poliédricas relaciones con América Latina. Finalmente, se definen los rasgos del periodo de la Gran Depresión y la década siguiente, lo que funciona como marco histórico de la subsiguiente fase alta de la hegemonía estadounidense.
