O presente trabalho analisa as defesas apresentadas por instituições ligadas à Educação Física para sua permanência como disciplina obrigatória no Ensino Médio frente às determinações contidas na Medida Provisória 746/16 (reforma do ensino médio), bem como suas repercussões para o texto final da lei 13.425/17. O percurso metodológico se desenvolveu a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica/documental, onde foram analisadas três notas oficiais e duas propostas de emendas à Medida Provisória. A partir da análise foi possível perceber que os discursos contidos nas manifestações, mesmo partindo do pressuposto comum, apresentaram concepções distintas e por vezes até conflitantes evidenciando a heterogeneidade do entendimento da área que se prolonga desde os anos 80. Ao final mesmo com a manutenção do texto anterior do artigo 26 da Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação de 1996 no texto final da Lei 13.415/17, o futuro da Educação Física no Ensino Médio permanece tão incerto quanto o da formação das juventudes presentes na Lei, uma vez que mantem-se e se aprofundam a precarização por diferentes vias.

The present study analyzes the defenses presented by institutions linked to Physical Education for its continuation as a compulsory discipline in High School in front of the determinations contained in Provisional Measure 746/16 (high school reform), as well as its repercussions for the final text of Law 13,425 / 17. The methodological course developed from the bibliographical / documentary research, where three official notes and two proposed amendments to the Provisional Measure were analyzed. From the analysis it was possible to perceive that the discourses contained in the manifestations even starting from the common presupposition presented different and sometimes even conflicting conceptions evidencing the heterogeneity of the understanding of the area that formed from the eighties. At the end even with the maintenance of the previous text of article 26 of the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education of 1996 in the final text of Law 13.415 / 17, the future of Physical Education in Secondary School remains as uncertain as the formation of the youths present in it, since the precarization is maintained by different route.
