Nesta explanação, buscamos colocar em pauta um cenário de educação e de religião, entendendo-os como espaço sociocultural significativo e determinante para o processo de constituir o humano e de este produzir história e desenvolver cultura. Educar abrange a complexidade do indivíduo e das sociedades. Por isso que também é necessário conceber conhecimentos que busquem entender as religiões elaboradas, e inerentes ao ser humano, e perceber como estas desencadeiam, no interior da história humana, atribuições de sentidos e significados para o existir, ao mesmo tempo em que referendam as ações políticas, éticas, econômicas e morais que se colocam para as pessoas e grupos. O que buscamos é uma compreensão e leitura que abrangem o aspecto da educação e da religião, sabendo-os patrimônio sociocultural humano construído, o que também justifica o trabalho com o componente curricular Ensino Religioso escolar. É necessário, para isto, desencadear uma reflexão que compreenda a educação como processo formativo, que contempla de forma crítica o desenvolvimento do indivíduo e do cidadão, e que promove e instaura a tolerância com o diferente, o respeito à diversidade e a responsabilidade social para com o outro e com a realidade vivida.

In this paper we try to discuss education and religion, which are conceived as a meaningful sociocultural space determined by a process in which the human being is built and where he produces history and develops culture. Educating encompasses the complexity of both society and individuals. Hence it is also necessary to conceive a knowledge rendered into an instrument able to understand or analyze the created religions, which are inherent to the human being, and to perceive how religions initiate, inside human history, the assignation of meanings to the very existence, and how they sustain or countersign political, ethical, economical, and moral actions undertaken inside the social group. We are looking for an understanding that includes education and religion, taking them as a constructed human sociocultural heritage, which justifies the work with the school religious education curriculum component. Then, it is necessary to develop a reflection that take education as a forming process, which includes a critical analyze of the development of the abilities required for the person to be fulfilled as both an individual and a citizen, and that promotes and introduces the tolerance to the different, the respect for diversity, and the social responsibility with the others, as well as with the reality in which one lives.
