This writing brings an experience with the "Black Awareness Month" or "Black November" in a public school in the countryside of Bahia (State of Brazil), which was thought and carried out through orality and ancestry. The methodological approach was multi-referential, based on ethnomethodology and with writing supported by the narrative in an epistemological perspective of “Escrevivências” and “Pretuguês”. The guiding question was: How can “Black November” be used as a potential for the protagonism of black youth in school? In this way, this work had as general objective: reflect how the “Black November” can be used as a potentiality for the protagonism of black youth in school. And the specific objectives were: understand the intersectionality of race with sexualities and gender identities and their possible consequences in the life of black youth; and Identify how the school can contribute with these issues, mainly guiding anti-racist education. For the theoretical contribution, some authors were used, such as: Somé (2007), Asante (2014), Gomes (2005), Munanga (2003), Crenshaw (2002), Lima (2015), among others. As a result of this whole process, was highlighted, mainly, the significant contribution to the teaching and learning of ethnic-racial issues, with students knowing and experiencing the history of African ancestors. However, this whole discussion can only be strengthened if the entire school community works together, guiding interdisciplinarity, understanding the specificities of young blacks and creating means based on an anti-racist education that aims at combating racism at school, autonomy and the protagonism of black youth.
