O artigo analisa o processo de flexibilização dos contratos de trabalho no futebol
brasileiro a partir da Lei Pelé (nº 9.615/98). Discute os principais mecanismos de negociações
entre clubes e jogadores de futebol. Considera as percepções dos jogadores brasileiros sobre
os direitos federativos do atleta e as mudanças nos contratos entre clubes e jogadores depois
do fim do passe. Teve como recorte empÃrico 12 clubes de futebol das séries A, B e C do
campeonato brasileiro. A coleta de dados se apoiou em duas técnicas de investigação:
entrevistas e questionários. Constata-se que os direitos federativos funcionam como o passe.
Conclui-se que os contratos de trabalho entre clubes e jogadores tornaram-se mais longos e
flexÃveis. O vÃnculo do atleta com o clube atualmente é de natureza trabalhista.
The article examines the process of relaxation of employment contracts in football
from the Brazilian Lei Pelé (9615/98). Discusses the main mechanisms of negotiation
between clubs and football players. Consider the perceptions of Brazilian players on the
federal rights of the athlete and the changes in contracts between clubs and players after the
