A importância dos projetos de extensão e da relação universidade – comunidade vem ganhando cada vez mais espaço no cotidiano. Esta aproximação da universidade com a comunidade dá a possibilidade de novas conquistas tanto para a instituição como para a comunidade. Diante desta realidade o projeto do curso Pré Vestibular UDESC – Pinhalzinho oferece semestralmente aos jovens e adultos de Pinhalzinho e região, que preferencialmente tenham cursado seu ensino médio em escolas públicas, a oportunidade de realizarem estudos preparatórios para o ingresso no ensino superior. No curso são ministradas as disciplinas de biologia, física, química, matemática, atualidades e redação. Dentre as consequências deste projeto estão a elevação do nível educacional dos alunos, o aumento no índice de aprovações dos alunos nos vestibulares, a divulgação do curso de Engenharia de Alimentos e, consequentemente uma maior procura por este curso e a promoção de um espaço de integração entre comunidade/sociedade e universidade

The importance of extension projects and the relationship between the university - community is becoming increasingly common in everyday life. This approach of the university with the community gives the possibility of new achievements for both the institution and the community. Faced with this reality the course Pre Vestibular UDESC - Pinhalzinho offers semiannually to young people and adults Pinhalzinho and region, which preferably have attended his high school in public schools, the opportunity to carry out studies preparatory to entering higher education. In the course are taught the disciplines of biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, and writing updates. Among the consequences of this project are to increase the educational level of students, the increase in the rate of approvals of students in college entrance exams, the disclosure of the course of Food Engineering, and consequently a greater demand for this course and the promotion of an integration between community / society and university
