Sob a égide do Estado Democrático de Direito, instituído pela Constituição da República de 1988, batizada de Constituição Cidadã, torna-se importante a pesquisa da evolução da cidadania. Este estudo perpassa os caminhos da própria democracia e da participação popular, cujas matrizes são os direitos à liberdade e igualdade. Impregnado dos ideais da Revolução Francesa, Kant realiza uma síntese histórica dos valores da liberdade e igualdade, indispensáveis para o desenvolvimento do conceito de cidadania. Ele desenvolve os conteúdos da igualdade e liberdade e consolida a concepção funcional do poder, cuja sede é o povo. O homem se torna fim em si mesmo e o papel do Estado fica intimamente associado à realização deste homem, que, reunido na sociedade civil, passa a se denominar cidadão. Neste texto trabalharemos a cidadania e seus fundamentos: liberdade e igualdade, segundo a doutrina de Immanuel Kant.
Under the aegis of the Democratic State of Law, established by the Constitution of the Republic of 1988, called the Citizen Constitution, it is important to research the evolution of citizenship. This study goes through the paths of democracy itself and popular participation, whose matrixes are the rights to freedom and equality. Imbued with the ideals of the French Revolution, Kant performs a historical synthesis of the values of freedom and equality, indispensable for the development of the concept of citizenship. It develops the contents of equality and freedom and consolidates the functional conception of power, whose seat is the people. Man becomes an end in himself and the role of the State is closely associated with the realization of this man, who, gathered in civil society, becomes a citizen. In this text we will work on citizenship and its foundations: freedom and equality, according to the doctrine of Immanuel Kant.
