Em diversas culturas as crianças não eram valorizadas e essa visão influenciou até mesmo o povo de Israel. Neste trabalho aborda-se o tratamento dado às crianças na Bíblia, visando evidenciar sua importância e fornecer elementos para que a educação atual das crianças seja realizada segundo o que o Livro Sagrado preceitua e conforme as orientações da igreja. Os resultados desse estudo revelam que Deus, pretendendo revelar-se como o Deus da vida, interviu em diferentes situações para que a vida das crianças fosse valorizada. E Jesus, com Seu amor e exemplo, elevou a posição das crianças perante a sociedade e as colocou em pé de igualdade com outros seres humanos, enaltecendo sua importância. Com isso, lançou um novo olhar para as crianças, ressaltando sua importância e o valor da educação cristã no lar. Conclui-se que a atenção dada pela Bíblia às crianças trouxe mudanças importantes para o tratamento das mesmas no contexto socioeducacional, propiciando uma nova perspectiva na educação e cuidado das mesmas.

In different cultures, children were not valued and this view influenced even the people of Israel. This work deals with the treatment of children in the Bible, aiming to highlight their importance and provide elements for the current education of children to be carried out according to what the Holy Book prescribes and according to the guidelines of the church. The results of this study reveal that God, intending to reveal himself as the God oflife, intervened in different situations so that children's lives were valued. And Jesus, with His love and example, elevated the position of children before society and placed them on an equal footing with other human beings, extolling their importance. With that, he took a new look at children, emphasizing their importance and the value of Christian education in the home. It is concluded that the attention given by the Bible to children brought important changes for the treatment of them in the socio-educational context, providing a new perspective in their education and care.
