A field experiment was realized aiming to study the effects of the concentrations of lime and zinc on the growth and development of the cassava plant for a better productivity in Oxisol with sandy texture with 0,12 mg.dm3 of Zn2+ in the soil. The cultivar was the kind "Espeto" demanding about the fertility of the soil. A randomized blocks design was used with plots subdivided and four repetitions, where the plots was treat with lime and split plot with zinc. The doses of lime and zinc used were (0.0; 1,593.75; 3,187.50; and 4,781.25 kg.ha-1) and (0.0; 2.08;4.17 and 6.25 kg.ha-1). The stand used were 13,330 plants.ha-1, with 128 plants in each plot and 32 plats in each split plot totalizing an area of 1,536 m2. There were realized four evaluations where was determined the influence of the treatments on plant populations, plant height, stem numbers, root numbers and dry mass. There was a positive correlation between the lime and zinc treatment and observed variables. The increase of the concentrations of zinc decrease the plants height and stem numbers, with concentration above of 2,5 and 3,2 kg.ha-1 correlation with concentrations 3.187,50 kg.ha-1 and 1.593,75 kg.ha-1 respectively.
