Convergência do léxico por contato entre o português brasileiro e o galego modernos

Este artigo pretende discutir elementos de convergência entre o galego e o português brasileiro a partir de alguns exemplos colhidos no léxico. O ponto de encontro entre estas duas culturas se dá no norte de Portugal, precisamente na região entre o Douro e o Minho: que guarda características do ponto de vista histórico-linguístico com a Galiza; no caso do Brasil se dá pelo contato linguístico, motivado pela emigração dos portugueses do Norte. Para corroborar esta convergência, vamos nos valer de dados históricos de uma região, Minas Gerais, que recebeu um contingente significativo de emigrantes provenientes do Douro e Minho entre os séculos XVIII e XIX. Os dados linguísticos serão colhidos no Esboço de um atlas linguístico de Minas Gerais (1977), em um estudo realizado por Paz-Andrade (1983) sobre o léxico em Guimarães Rosa e a título de comparação no Atlas linguístico Galego. Os dicionários nas respectivas línguas como também do português europeu também serão consultados. Dessa forma, poderemos analisar a inserção desses vocábulos em nível de registro nas sociedades em estudo.

This article discusses some elements of convergence between the Galician and the Brazilian Portuguese languages, with basis on some examples taken from the lexicon. The meeting between these two cultures takes place in the north of Portugal, in the region between the Douro and Minho, a region that, from the historicallinguistic point of view, has characteristics in common with Galicia. In Brazil, this convergence is due to linguistic contact, caused by the arrival to the country of immigrants from the North of Portugal. In order to corroborate this convergence, well shall use historical data from the state of Minas Gerais, which received a significant contingent of emigrants from the Douro and Minho between the 18th and 19th centuries. The linguistic data will be collected in the Outline of a linguistic atlas of Minas Gerais (1977), in a study conducted by Paz-Andrade (1983) on the lexicon in Guimarães Rosa, and, for comparison, in the Galician linguistic Atlas. Dictionaries in both languages, as well in the European Portuguese, will also be consulted. In this way, we can analyze the insertion of these words, at the level of register, in the societies under study.
