Na contemporaneidade, trabalhar assuntos voltados a temática ambiental pode refletir em uma formação humana, crítica e com viés social. Diante disso, o presente trabalho busca analisar a contribuição da agroecologia, enquanto prática sociocultural, como uma vivência, capaz de auxiliar na construção de conhecimentos sobre a temática ambiental, com alunos do ensino fundamental de uma escola estadual do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A metodologia adotada consistiu em uma pesquisa qualitativa, por meio de uma pesquisa-ação. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 21 alunos do sexto ano de uma escola estadual do município de Tupanciretã – RS. Por meio da Análise de Conteúdo foi possível verificar que os alunos apresentaram novos conhecimentos, pois a análise de similitude evidenciou uma ampliação dos conhecimentos dos alunos participantes do estudo.
