Este estudo teve por objetivo identificar os espaços em que se desenvolveram historicamente algumas das principais experiências que influenciaram a Educação Popular (EP) no estado da Paraíba, no período de 1960 a 2010. A matriz teórica e analítica é a dialética, e a pesquisa assume uma
abordagem qualitativa. Metodologicamente, utilizou-se a sistematização de experiências, a partir de entrevistas narrativas para a reconstituição da história e da memória de educadores populares com atuação reconhecida e destacada nesse Estado. Em termos da análise e da organização dos dados, realizou-se a escuta da gravação original das entrevistas e, em seguida, procedeu-se à transcrição dos originais. A amostra foi composta por 11 sujeitos. A análise das entrevistas resultou no levantamento de 57 experiências de EP. Dentre as conclusões, é possível destacar que o estado da Paraíba pode ser considerado um importante centro articulador de experiências locais e nacionais de EP no Brasil.
This study aimed to identify the spaces where some of the main experiences that influenced Popular Education (PE) in the state of Paraíba, from 1960 to 2010, historically developed. The theoretical and analytical framework is dialectical, and the research adopts a
qualitative approach. Methodologically, the systematization of experiences was used, based on narrative interviews to reconstruct the history and memory of popular educators with recognized and outstanding performance in that state. In terms of data analysis and organization, the original recordings of the interviews were listened to, and then the originals were transcribed. The sample consisted of 11 subjects. The analysis of the interviews resulted in the identification of 57 PE experiences. Among the conclusions, it is possible to highlight that the state of Paraíba can be considered an important center for articulating local and national PE experiences in Brazil.
