Canaã é uma obra literária considerada realista e naturalista, escrita por Graça Aranha no início do século XX. Trata-se de um romance entre Maria e Milkau. A história se passa durante a ocupação territorial capixaba por imigrantes europeus. A questão sobre a qual pretendemos discorrer e questionar é a seguinte: existem questões culturais relacionadas à ocupação territorial do Espírito Santo que dificultam o acesso ao Direito de Propriedade, constitucionalmente previsto, no interior dessa obra literária? É o que descreveremos ao longo deste trabalho.

Canaã is a literary work considered realistic and naturalistic, that was written by Graça Aranha in the beginning of the 20th century. It tells the story of the romance between Mary and Milkau. The story takes place during the Capixaba territorial occupation by European immigrants. This article aims to discuss the following: are there cultural issues related to the territorial occupation of Espírito Santo, which hinder the access to property right, constitutionally secured, within this literary work? This is what will be described throughout this article.
