Translation is as old an activity as it is inescapable for interaction at higher leveis between different peoples to take place. Human beings must have been engaged in the activity of translating since shortly after languages `appeared' in the world. Needless to dwell upon the importance of translation today if one thinks of the fast-paced rhythm in which information is exchanged and spread across the world, both on account of and for the sake of the ever amazing technological developments of humankind.
