Este trabalho tem como objetivo abordar sobre o caso de racismo, cometido durante o evento ATL realizado na Universidade Federal do Acre (Ufac), no ano de 2019. Para a escrita do artigo foi analisada a matéria “Indígenas repudiam atos de racismo em evento na Ufac”, disponível no jornal “A Tribuna”, edição n° 6.707, de 25 de maio do mesmo ano, no qual se relata a discriminação racial contra os indígenas realizada por funcionários e estudantes da instituição federal. Para a escrita deste artigo utilizou-se referenciais teóricos que discutem tanto sobre o racismo estrutural como o institucional e seus impactos na sociedade, sendo eles Bento (2022) Carneiro (2019), Kilomba (2019), Silvio Almeida (2021), Silva (2020), Quijano (2005), dentre outros, que ressaltam ainda os processos de enfrentamentos necessários para o combate ao racismo. A metodologia é de cunho bibliográfico e documental, haja vista a análise do texto jornalístico já mencionado. Mediante o trabalho compreendemos o racismo como um crime que possui suas raízes no passado, sendo resultado da colonialidade que criou a ideia de raça e organização hierarquizante estando ainda muito presente em nossa sociedade atual, colocando sobre todos a responsabilidade de combatê-lo.

This work aims to address the case of racism, committed during the ATL event held at the Federal University of Acre (Ufac), in 2019. For the writing of this article, the news article "Indigenous people repudiate acts of racism at an event at Ufac" was analyzed, available in the newspaper A Tribuna, issue number 6.707, of May 25 of the same year, reporting racial discrimination against indigenous people by employees and studentsof the federal institution. For the writing of the work, theoretical references were used that discuss both structural and institutional racism and its impacts on society, namely Bento (2022) Carneiro (2019), Kilomba (2019), Silvio Almeida (2021), Silva (2020), Quijano (2005), among others, who also highlight the confrontation processes necessary to combat racism. The methodology is bibliographic and documental in nature, given the analysis of the journalistic text already mentioned. Through this work we understand racism as a crime that has its roots in the past, being the result of the coloniality that created the idea of race and hierarchical organization and is still very present in our society today, placing on everyone the responsibility to fight it.
