The success in increasing the grain yield of commercial crops, especially soybean, refers to management practices that minimize stress on plants during their development. In this context, the sowing season is a key factor, mainly because it allows a better positioning of the crop in the face of biotic and abiotic factors in plants. Among the biotic factors, of great importance are the stink bugs, which in general are the most important pest insects at the national level for soybeans, precisely because they cause significant and irreversible damage to the crop. Thus, the objective was to identify the species with the highest occurrence within each reproductive stage of soybeans and the percentage of bedbugs at different sowing times. The study was carried out during the 2019/2020 harvest in the experimental area of the Department of Agronomic and Environmental Sciences at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Frederico Westphalen Campus - RS. For the conditions of this study, the species of stink bugs of greater occurrence were, Dichelops melacanthus, Euschistos heros and Piezodorus guildinii, where the reproductive stages (R5.3, R5.5 and R6) coincide in greater population fluctuations of stink bugs and there is a high bedbug pressure on soybean sown early in September and October in this region.
