Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar os distintos rumos de
dois fluxos migratórios de italianos para o Brasil, iniciados
no final do século XIX e a forma como têm sido estudados.
Foram processos inicialmente semelhantes, mas que,
devido às diferentes trajetórias dessas colônias, sua
localização e suas relações com o contexto regional e
nacional, desenvolveram-se de forma distinta, gerando
diferentes contatos culturais e identidades diversas.
This paper aims to analyze the differences found between
two streams of migration and the way they are researched.
For both, the initial process was similar, but due to the
different courses taken and the relations established with
the regional and national context, the two streams
developed in different ways, creating different cultural
contacts and identities.
