Violência: uma realidade cotidiana comprometendo a cidadania na velhice

A violência na sociedade brasileira torna-se cada vez mais presente na vida cotidiana, no trânsito, no trabalho, nas ruas, nas escolas, nos lares, além de ser tema presente na mídia, na agenda de políticos e intelectuais, e no pensamento da população, que se vê cada vez mais insegura, até mesmo em casa, lugar onde se espera proteção. Este trabalho objetivou analisar
as condições sob as quais essa violência ocorre, e o conteúdo da violência em domicílio contra pessoas idosas, em cidade do sul da Bahia, Brasil. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo que tomou, como foco de análise, denúncias de violência recebida pelo Conselho Municipal de Idosos, em município do sul da Bahia, e registradas em fichas específicas, sendo selecionadas três delas para averiguar in loco a situação dos idosos. As violências cometidas não são necessariamente consideradas como tal pelo próprio idoso, que tende a justificá-las, afirmando que os agressores não são pessoas más. Como apontado em outros trabalhos, os agressores são próximos do idoso; no caso específico, filhos e amigos. A renda familiar é proveniente do Benefício da Prestação Continuada da pessoa idosa, e objeto de desejo dos agressores, que a usam em benefício próprio. Dos três casos, aqui analisados, a relação dos agressores com drogas, o desemprego e as condições precárias de moradia são marcadores do sofrimento e dor desses idosos.

The violence in Brazilian society is increasingly present in everyday life, whether in traffic, at work, in the streets, in schools, in homes, in addition to being present topic in the media, on the agenda of politicians and intellectuals, and thought of the population, we see more and more unsafe, even at home, where it is expected protection. This study aimed to analyze the conditions under which such violence occurs in addition to the contents of the address in violence against elderly people in the southern city of Bahia, Brazil. It is a qualitative study that took as its focus of analysis reports of violence received by the Municipal Council of Elderly in southern city of Bahia and recorded in specific forms, having selected three of them to investigate in loco the situation of the elderly. The committed violence is not necessarily considered as such by the very old, which tends to justify them by claiming that offenders are not bad people. As pointed out in other works, the perpetrators are close to the elderly; in the specific case, children and friend. Family income is derived from the Continuous Cash Benefit of the elderly and object of desire of the attackers, who uses it to their advantage. Of the three cases analyzed here, the list of offenders with drugs, unemployment and poor housing conditions are markers of suffering and pain of the elderly.
